As to that news article, of course the possibility always exists, but seriously, that sounds like an unfair rip-off from H.G. Wells. It doesn't provide food for thought from a time newer than The Time Machine's publication. His reasoning could be sound in some *very few* aspects, but the future has never entirely lived up to predictions.

Maybe we would, maybe we wouldn't. Meanwhile, the rift of class and station in society is a more important concern for present times than an evolutionary split of the human race

This question cannot be answered because it doesn't exist a 'human race' or 'human races', only ONE human SPECIES.

All humans are classified as belonging to the SPECIES 'Homo sapiens sapiens'.

No I don't think so for the posh have to breed just ever so occasionally with the common people to stop themseves ending up even weirder than they often already are.

Henry the eighth used to romp in haybarns with milkmaids just to water down the poshness, i saw it in a carry on film.  It still happens today look and Charles and Di, I know she wasn''t really common but she was only a nursery school teacher and their kids are normal.

I doubt it unless there is a physical barrier between the two.  I feel that these two groups of people will intermingle regularly and so we will never really have two species

Yeah i read about that today on the news not sure if its true but i do be live that some time on the long long long future we might be all the same color but totally different species. yeah that's something i can't see. Come on in the 50's they thought by 2000 we would be living on the moon and driving space cars granted we have things close to it but no where near the ideas they had in there minds. But this is just me i didn't spend the billions of tax dollars to do the studies lol

If humans are separated for a long time in two vastly different environments with little or no physical contact with each other, then yes.

Going to the realm of science fiction. If the human species eventually finds another planet where they can be self sufficient from earth they will more likelly evolve to a different path than the ones left on earth.

With the current trend here on earth human differences,like language, skin colour etc will eventually blend as geographically we are not any more isolated (thanks to transport technology) from each other to the extent we where for millions of years before the last two millenia. It is not only the human species that will become homogenised, but plant life, animals, bacteria and viruses as well. This means a lot of less adaptive species (sadly most ethnic cultures as well) will go extinct. This has already started. I think some call it globalisation.

There was just am article in Yahoo News yesterday about how a scientist predicts that the human race will eventually evolve into two seperate species.  One will be attractive, intelligent, ruling class people and the other will be ugly, poorly educated workers who support the elite.  Hmmm. sounds like we're almost there already, but it's supposed to become 2 distinct species in 100,000 years.  Similar to the Eloi and Morlocks in the H.G.Wells story, The Time Machine.
