I know the USMC has the Physical Conditioning Platoon for recruits that cannot pass the Initial Strength Test but I want to know if they will give me a chance.

  1. If you can pass the other tests, they will probably work with you on the weight, figure if you start PT long before boot, the odds are you will drop some weight just from that. Start by running daily, this will help you not only to lose weight but drop a few pounds, also weight training is a good start to build your strength.

  2. I don't believe having 25% body fat is permanent. Get in shape and go for it. Can't pass the IST? Train until you're able to.

  3. You might need to cut weight.  Check marines website they should give you a height weight requirement

  4. Marine Corps Fitness and Weight Charts

  5. Your body fat is O.K. Top acceptable is 26%. But, you are 18-20 pounds overweight for your height. Source below is the standard.

  6. You can always ask.

The Navy wouldn't take my son until he got down to 190.  He was about your weight.

I think the USMC is a little more strict than the Navy, though.

  7. http://usmilitary.about.com/od/marines/l...

Check out that website, it lists all the information about the physical requirements/restrictions ect.

  8. max weight for 75 inches tall (6' 3") is 220lbs according to the height weight chart for the marines. I would get your weight down to 215 just to be safe. Maybe you want it down even more because you sure as h**l dont want to be on a diet tray in boot camp

  9. You should start running and eat healthy.  It will all be worth it.  When you graduate, you'll be a lean, cut, ripped killing machine!

  10. I do believe max allowable body fat is between 18% and 21% to even be recruited in the first place.
