Will the music I listen to affect my 3 year old?

Question

I'm 14 and am in an advance hip-hop class and a lot of the music I dance to has bad words and sexual innuendo's and I don't want my 3 year old niece picking it up. will it affect her?

(I was just free-styling to Swing by Savage and she started dancing too and it got me thinking...)

Well, my son used to listen to Sesame Street songs a lot, and one Christmas Eve when he was 3, we were at church singing Christmas carols, and he joined in with "I Love Trash" (Oscar the Grouch theme song) at the top of his lungs.  

Kids that age do hear, especially if it's rhythmic and repeated. If she takes a liking to the songs, she may very well start singing them at a very embarrassing time.  Beyond that, she probably won't pick up on the meaning.  But who would want to have to explain?

Yes, ofcourse....it's a natural fact that v can do things more easily if v r continuously practicing it....and she wil also be practicing it daily coz she is listening to it daily.....isn't she....

i wouldn't advice you to listen to that kind of music around her. at that age they go by what they hear and see. if she's hearing bad words and you allow it, you can't get mad if she say it.

its a good thing you dont listen to that c**p outside of dancing... that was an awful song. not awful like bad words and stuff but it was just a really dumb song.

I work at a daycare and there is a little girl (6) whos mom listens to a lot of rap and i think sees a little too much stuff sometimes. anyway, one time she was giving a chair a lap dance, she used to hump her cot at nap time, and sometimes you'll catching her making moaning sounds and saying oh baby... its weird.

Yes it can greatly affect her. I listen to R&B and hip hop all the time and lately ive been getting in trouble because my little sister has been singing these songs WORD FOR WORD so yea it WILL affect her.LOL
