  1. Have you sworn in yet, if not you might be able to be released from your contract, Call Your Recruiter ASAP

    Vet-USAF

@dded if you want to join then Blow off the school until later

  2. Get your college while you still can. Then sign up to be an officer in the navy.  So go and tell your recruiter what you are going to do. Best of luck to you.

  3. You're free to decide .. think calmly (leave it for a few days) then you must decide. Don't hesitate. If you prefer the navy go and education you can do every where (but not VSU)

  4. there's nothing u can do the military wont let you go you have to talk to the collage

  5. Nothing you can do....enjoy the navy.

  6. Your dads right! Get an education

  7. Signing up for the military should not be taken lightly.

Doesn't matter that  you were accepted to VSU - you have to report for duty.

You can attend school after your military duty

  8. go talk to your recruiter...used to be that until you raised your hand at meps you didn't have to go...go talk and see what the recruiter can do for you...worth a shot if you really want to go to college.

  9. Best suggestion is to stay in the Navy if, for example, you want to improve mechanical engineering skills on a submarine or computer skills on any of the battleships or even F-14 fighters on an aircraft carrier.

That is your education enhancement here.....

  10. You are not in the Navy until you raise your hand and ship to boot camp. If you won't to go to college, go to college.

  11. Are you in the Navy DEP program? If so, you are fine. Write a lettter to your recruiter and explain that you are going to college. If you are actually enlisted, meaning you already went to recruit training, there is nothing you can do.

  12. Have fun and see the world

  13. u can not go they called u and thats it say bye bye to the pro. good luck

  14. Until you raised your hand you are not officially in the military.  Go check out the college see if that's what you want to do If not go raise your hand and join the military.  Remember you can always get your education while on active duty.

  15. I had this discussion with my recruiter the other day.  If you are in the DEP you can opt. out any time as long as it is before your ship date.  Some recruiters might try to tell you that you can't, but until you take the oath the second time, you can get out of it.

HOWEVER, if that Navy really is what you want to do, then go for it.  It is a great opportunity.

  16. choose one or the other.  can't do both.  if you opt to do college let your recruiter no ASAP so he can free your A school slot up for someone who WILL honor their commitment.

Hint: serving in the Navy you can get that education paid for..at least a large chunk of it.  so unless you got a full ride scholarship.. think very hard before reneging on a contract.
