Will Mark Hughes be a big enough "name" for the new owners, or will they be going abroad for a big name at the end of the season?

FQ Will Keegan still be in a job at the end of today ☺

  1. I think they will as long as we get a top 5 finish or so!

  2. mark hughes will be fine, as long as manchester city finish in the top 6 this season if not i think he will be sacked at the end of season,

as in january city will spend about 100million on new players.

  3. Depends whether he does well or not. Just bought Robhinio for £32 mil. They bought back S.W-Phillips which I thought was good. He has quite a strong squad. So it all depends what he does with it. If he can win something or try and get close to winning something this season, then yeah he should be kept on and it shouldn't matter to them whether he's a "big name" or not. Because he'll be doing good for the club. :]

  4. Not for long

  5. I don't think it will entirely depend on his results this season but his results after January.  If he finishes in the top 10 but his results from January onwards are near flawless they will keep him otherwise the person who said he will have to finish in the top 6 has it right.

  6. No, it will be the old Ranieri syndrome. Hughes will not win anything this year and Guus Hiddink will be brought in to win the leagues & cups that are coming their way.

  7. I think Mark Hughes may have been brought in as a choice of the new owners in the first place. I think talks between shinawatra and the consortium started a while back.

Kig Kev is on borrowed time at Newcastle.

  8. for now they will.................

  9. It all depends on his success this season. Mark Hughes has just been given a huge treasure chest filled with gold but now he's got to earn it. The pressure and demand for success just skyrocketed for him. Should Man City end up 8th or below he's definately gone. From 4th - 8th, he MIGHT stay and might go, in the top four, they will not sack him. The real question is can Mark Hughes get instant success. He's a strong team (even before Robinho) and he's a good manager so I think he can. but he'll last no more than three seasons.

So unless he really c***s up this season they'll keep him on IMO

  10. The new owners will, and should, keep Mark Hughes. And yes,Keegan will still be in a job.
