Will the number of cars on GT5 prologue increase?

Everything I can dig up says that it will have a mere 40 cars and just a few tracks.

Are those just the cars you start with?

And once you make enough money on the game you can buy new ones through online play?

GT4 had over 700 cars from 30 some odd manufacturers.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is a PlayStation 3 exclusive title which was announced at the E3 2007. This short version title was a precursor and sampling of Gran Turismo 5 and replaced Gran Turismo HD Concept. In December 2007 the Japanese release 37 stock cars including the uncredited GT-R "Black Mask" returning from the free playable demo from various Japanese, European and American manufacturers including Nissan, Ferrari and Ford. Then Spec II updates and adds new manufacturers, more stock cars and introduces racing cars, tuners and "Tuned" cars. Total number of playable cars reaches 71. The North American version of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue brought additional stock and tuned cars, increasing the game's car list to 76 credited cars. While GT3 and GT4 did have Formula One cars, GT5 Prologue was the first of the series to feature a fully licensed F1 car, the F2007. GT5 prologue Spec III features 16-player online races, over 70 cars (including tuned cars), 6 tracks, 12 layouts, 60 frames per second frame rate .During races, replays are displayed at 30 frames per second and LPCM 7.1ch high definition sound. And there are chances that the number of cars will be increase more in future.
