Will the passport number change if i apply for a new passport?

My current passport is damaged and i would like to know if i apply for a new passport will my passport number change or remain the same?

If your passport is damaged or mutilated, you can apply for a new passport. In the U.S. each passport has a unique number. So yes your passport number changes for each passport you obtain.
