This is my first time getting a passport, and I had my picture taken at a place that offered passport pictures a couple of days ago in preparation of my appointment. I did a little smile - not a huge one or anything - but it was still a smile. I had read the info provided in the passport application regarding pictures, and it didn't say anything about not smiling, but I randomly came across something today that said smiles aren't allowed on passport photos...so I'm both concerned about my passport eligibility and upset that the passport photo people didn't tell me not to smile if it wasn't going to be allowed before I shelled out $12 to them for a 2x2 picture. My appointment for getting the passport done is this Saturday, and so if I need to get another one done, I'll have to do it tomorrow...so my question is:
Will the passport office actually deny a passport photo that has me smiling, even though the application paperwork doesn't say not to? Or do you think they'll let it slide?
