Will the pill not work if I start taking it the second day of my period?

I was on the pill for 3 years, then stopped for two months. I wanted to start again, but I forgot to take it the first day of my period, so I took it at 11:30pm the second day of my period, then took another at midnight, as if I normally took pills at midnight and was treating it like I had missed a pill the day before. I had s*x maybe a week or two later. Am I at risk of being pregnant?

  1. Yes there is a slight chance.

But you're always supposed to take the pill 7 to 10 days straight before you have any s*x

    Get checked just in case!

    good luck

  2. no.  if you waited a week, you should be fine.  you can start the pill any time of the month, but it's best to start within the first week of bleeding.  if you start on any day other than the first day of bleeding, you need to use back-up for a week.
