You will have to pay a basic subscription fee which will allow you access to only the "top" 100 Internet sites they choose. Access to any other web site will cost extra money. In Canada this will come into effect by 2010. Internet Service providers in the United States and else where plan to follow the Canadian "model" by 2012. Does this mean the Internet will become like cable television where only organizations with a vast amount of wealth will be able to provide content? Is this the end of the Internet as a medium for the "average" person to have a "voice"?
