Will the post office reject christmas cards without the proper postage?

I'm one of the awesome carriers who usually pays the durn postage....you better leave your carrier some cookies!! But yes most of the time they will return the letter.....

1) return them with a return address for additional postage

2) deliever them to addressee and collect the postage missing

3) put them in the dead letter office, when they eventually become recycled paper
