I heard an expert on www.msnbc.com suggest that gas prices will continue to increase until 25% of american drivers cut back on their driving. Right now, about 1% to 2% of american drivers have cut back on their driving. That's not enough to significantly reduce america's 20million barrel of oil per day habit. In otherwords, the price of gas will continue to increase until 25% of americans cut back on their driving.

  1. Well... I guess only the scientist can defeat the high priced gas evil. I just saw the news on Yahoo today. There is a company in Japan claims invented car to run sololy on water. The cost of generating the engine won't be too expensive in mass production. If the invention is real, i guess the gas price could drop a lot soon.

(I saw similar news before, but never think it was real. )

  2. like the houing prices it will burst its a matter of time $5 may be the tipping point

  3. The romance with the personal automobile may be over.  Rising fuel prices allow only necessary driving.  Bicycles, Buses, Taxis, and Trains are fast becoming the most economical modes of travel.

Political officials and elite citizens have certain immunity from rising costs of fuel and energy.  Elite wealthy people similar to the well to do in Europe are able to pay whatever the price of fuel.  Political officials make extensive  usage of government vehicles.  In both cases the cost of fuel per gallon in irrelevant.

Mainstream American and lower income citizens are at a critical disadvantage to rising prices.  Survival decisions are in the balance of choosing between food and shelter.
