If it's from $4.10 to 4.35 in my city now, what are the chances it will be $5.00 per gallon next year?

  1. The price of gas is driven by commodity traders and the increase in demand by India and China.

As to the first only the USA government can regulate the speculation of commodity traders in buying the futures of gas and thereby driving the price up.   Thus far Washington has shown no sign that they will regulate this industry and until they do the price of gas will continue to climb.

The second element is the growth and need for gasoline by the nations India and China.  Both are undergoing huge industrial and economic growth.

As such expect higher gas prices both this summer and beyond.  The only way gas is going to come down is if the USA shows the backbone to go to alternative fuels.

  2. Its practically OVER $5 in my city.

    Its definite..

  3. in summer the prices for gas will go up because in the summer many people are going to diffrent places.

  4. It is possible that gas will get close to $5.00/gallon over the next year.  It's a cycle, so prices will go down eventually, though they may not go as low as they were before.

  5. Historically, gas prices  have increased during summer months, because more people drive during vacation.

  6. ive seen where 4.00- 4.25 will be a fixed price for the next year or so.. except in november.. remember 4 years ago when gas prices miraculously droped  $1 a gallon around election time?

there is a easy solution , THE us govt is not putting enuf pressure on opec countries such as saudi arabia. to send out more barrels of oil perday.  The US could easily say ... "we're pulling out our military from the bases there so you can be at the mercy of your crazy neighbors and your monarchy wil be overthrown"..

its a shame prices being so high.. some of us still have to work for minimum wage in this country !

  7. yes it deffietly will

  8. you better believe it will. its going to keep going up till people start rioting and resembling a mad max movie
