Will the psp 3000 be able to play psp games?

willl the psp 3000 have games specific games for it or will it still use UMD's?

yeah the psp 3000 is a psp, there is no difference in the games that they play, the only thing is that there is going to be a screen on the 3000 that will have less glare and it will be easier to use with skype because of a built in microphone.

It will still use UMD's. In fact it is still the same as a normal PSP, it's just got a screen upgrade. There is no other difference in hardware at all. It's not like it's changing from a PS2 to a PS3 or anything, it's just a slightly upgraded PSP.

PSP2 probably won't be out for a long time to come.

Yes, it will still be able to play UMD's. I have listed the changes to the PSP.

-the screen is non-reflective so players can play in brightly lit places

-it has a built-in microphone for voice chat

-the improved screen will also have a greater contrast than the older one

-the start and select buttons have a new shape now

-the home button on the PSP has changed into a PSbutton
