Will the " shock scratch" on my ipod touch eventually go away?

Question

Today I dropped my ipod.

It has a cover and a protective sheet of plastic over the screen.

Since I dropped it, a giant scratch/crack has developed in the middle of my screen.

What can I do to make it go away?

When I slide my finger over the scratch, it is smooth and you can tell that it is under the top layer of the ipod

Duh .... NO!

yoou have broken the screen inside and it won't suddenly repair itself.  if the ipod is still working OK otherwise then there is no issue if not time for a repair or a new ipod.
