Will the rays hang on to first?

My guess they will with minesota as a wild card berth.

I think that the Rays will hang on to first because with Manny ramirez being traded i think the sox will fall apart twards the end of the year. That mean the rays only have to beat out one more team the yankees. Even though the Yankees made a couple good trades, I dont think that can beat out the rays if the yankees keep the SP rotation the same

their bullpen is probably the best in baseball.....and their starting rotation is top 3 at least

they play killer defense.....esp on that left side with Longo and Bartlett

their offense is my biggest concern.....but theyll come around

they have 12 games remaining vs. the yankees and red sox.....those will be huge

All they have to do is beat the AL East teams(red sox and yankees), then they will hold off the division, because those games are HUGE!

No they won't hang on to first in the AL East. The Yanks and Sox are lurking and at least one will eventually catch up. They might get the wild card.

i think they will

they have such great pitching with kazmir,shields,garza at the top and sonnanstine and jackson as two of the best bottom of the rotation pitchers in the bigs

then you get to that amazing bullpen,we already knew al reyes dan wheeler and troy percival were good,but then grant balfour and jp howell come up and have been lights out. so the pitching could get them very deep into the postseason

then you have that defense.the infielders have been gold glove worthy,bartlett and longoria flash their glovework pretty much every game. and iwamura rarely makes an error.carlos pena can scoop really good too,the outfielders,crawford and upton,are 2 of the most exciting in baseball and can cover ground

now the batting...it hasnt been so great. longoria and pena have came alive lately as huge power boosts. we still need upton and crawford to get hot like they always have. if they and guys like iwamura and bartlett and navarro get hot,WATCH OUT,they have potential to be a top 10 offense

so all and all the rays are one great team that should be considered title contenders. i see them going as far as the ALCS. and if they somehow make it to the world series i think they are better than any national league team

I believe they'll hang on to first and sting the competition, Yankees, Red Sox, but i doubt they'll get farther than the second round though.
