  1. No

  2. I dont think so neither does my dad

  3. I believe yes, however as the prices go up, the demand will go down and if you know about January 18 2007 the prices went down suddenly and then every1 was buying fuel and then it went up again and round and round we go..

  4. I do think it will help, though petrol use isn't the only source of pollution and C02 emissions.

What will help is because of the cost of fuel people will want more efficient cars (and possibly drive less), and manufacturers will have trouble selling cars than are not as efficient. Higher petrol prices will also mean people may not have the money to buy newer vehicles, increasing the car manufacturers pressure to make more fuel efficient vehicles more affordable.

  5. Yes. They will not have enough cash to pay for cheap Chinese imports, Electricity, Gas, Water, Sewage, charges or Council Tax or mobile phone bills. They will be too busy trying to find food they can afford.

  6. people who are stuck in their ways won't everybody is different

  7. No just raise more money for the war in Iraq

  8. The rising cost of fuel has certainly made me use less.  I am sure there is no such thing as global warming, though.

  9. This is true, however as the whole global warming issue is a politically based lie which enables governments like Brown's to raise tax with impunity, by saying this is to save the planet, the issue will not go away. the earth has heated and cooled since the beginning and some species survived and others did not and that is all that is happening here. Global Warming is a lie where carbon dioxide is concerned.

  10. Only to a degree.  The rich don't care & the poor will just get poorer due to rising costs, etc.  We also need alternative sources of energy & transportation.  There is no overnight answer & our leaders must have the courage and vision to actually lead us to better solutions.

  11. not true. people who use cars are still using cars. they are paying whatever amount exists now.

  12. To your initial question... no.

What's happening is that recreational gas usage is decreasing slightly to account for increased costs... but we're a commuter society and as a result a significant portion of our fuel consumption is for essential activities.  That will not be reduced (you can't just decide not to go to work).

This will make the price drop slightly, which will in turn spur on a slight increase in consumption again...

...round and round we go and that's not going to solve the problem of climate change.

  13. It is absolutely true that we will use less the more expensive it gets. Europe is an example and it is happening to a smaller degree here in the US. People do adjust.

EDIT - Will it solve GW? No! We need to move away from fossil fuels (coal and oil) to limit GW.
