Will the satellite cable from antenna work on standard vhf antenna?

I recently cancelled by satellite service; Hooked up standard tv antenna. Will the coax cable, formerly used from Dish to my TV (same cable) work from the old style antenna to my tv? If so, I could use it since it is already there or do I have to get a new wire or cable? Thanks.

It will work, but if the impedance (ohms) is different, you may not get the best signal. If you have a clear picture, then no need to buy a new cable.
