Will the shops in paris be closed from Dec.28 - Jan 2nd ?

The shop will be open except the first of january. There won't be any sale. the sale is later in january.

The vacation in Paris (Zone C) is from the 22nd of december to the 7th of january.

No, they will be open except on Sunday and January 1st.

School vacation is from December 22 to January 6.

The official winter sale date for Paris has not been released yet but should be around January 9, 2008. So no, you won't be able to enjoy the sales, it's never that early.

Shops in the tourist areas may (or may not) be open on Sunday.  Last year they were open.  I browsed in several stores along rue Montorgueil and boulevard St. Germain.  

In terms of stores, pretty much everything will be closed on 1 January.  Last year a few tabacs and creperies were open in the Beaubourg area.
