Question:

Will the storm/hurricane come to Houston?

I'm scared and I live here but its sunny and blue in Harris County so will it come or will it just pass by?

  1. The latest track has it going to your north.  You might see some wind and rain, but nothing too terribly bad.


  2. First of all, it is not a hurricane so I wouldn't be too scared as of right now.  But we all remember allison.  It doesn't have to be strong to cause flooding. Right now it doesn't appear to be slowing down so the rainfall shouldn't be too extreme.  

  3. I gave the two answers below me a "Thumbs Down" and here's why.

    As you can see by this graph, TS Eduardo is headed straight towards Galveston Bay at 8mph.

    This is bad for two reasons.

    1) 8 mph is incredibly slow. It's comparable to riding a bike.

    Slow moving storms dump a lot of rain, like 12 to 15 inches of rain.

    TS Allison did just that in 2001 and Houston was flooded.

    2) Galveston Bay is wedge-shaped, which means the threat of flooding from storm surge is real.

    If your area was flooded by Allison, it will likely get flooded again.

    Take preparations NOW. You are running out of time.
