Ok people are laughing but actually it is NOT a dumb question.

Not all metals set it off, and in many cases there is very little actual metal in an underwire bra (for instance, it is mostly a thin piece of metal and plastic coating) but it most certainly *can* set it off. Again, not always.

They just wave the wand across the front of you. If it goes off where your bra is then it is fine.
