Sorry Captain Shannon, but Yankees have plenty of fans west of New York but Yankee fans will move on & well, it was a nice long run from 1995 to 2007 making they play offs every year in that time frame which no other team can say they did & I don't think there is another team currently with a 2 year span of making the play offs unless you count this year but Yankees are still in the hunt for a wild card spot & until they are mathematically eliminated, they still have a shot & considering they weren't picked to make the play offs but a team like the Tigers were & look at them.

No. Nobody west of New York cares about the Yankees. It will be aggravating listening to all the nitwit announcers constantly talking about a team that didn't make the the playoffs, which they will.

Lets get our baseball mythology straight. The universe will explode if the Cubs win the World Series, it has nothing to do with Yankees missing the playoffs.

Although, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Yankees try to take credit. But first look at the numbers - since 1908 the Yankees have missed the playoffs 40 or 50 times...and no explosion. The Cubs have not won the World Series though, so I think we should all thank them for keeping the universe safe through ineptitude.
