my sons father suffers from schitziphrenia he is a veteran and recieves 2,400 monthly he also receives money from ssi disability he owes childsupport but the va or childsupport office are allowed to garnish any of his money my question is what do i do? how am i to get any support if no one can do anything? can i get money for he support of my son from the va also? my sons father actually gets paid extra money for his dependents ... how can he get paid extra money for kids that hes not even taking care of? i cannot afford an attorney and i dont even no if an attorney could help me ... does anyone have any answers to any of these questions.. i was told that i could get some money from ssi but if he gets paid from the va then that means his disablity payments are probably not much money and if they (ssi) base it on how much money he gets from them then that means i shouldnt get to much for my son then right?

  1. You need some legal help from someone. Try calling the

"Legal Aid Society." They are good at helping on issues like this.

There should also be a county (or state)  social welfare office, i.e. someone with Social Workers. It depends on the state, but  they usually work with VA and can sometimes help you find legal aid pro bono.

  2. wow what a mess.  Your babies daddy should be paying father support.  If you divorced the sob Isn't there some place in the divorce where you could contact the court and get him to pay up??  He is making way too much money btw.  Someone on SSI should not be making 2400.00 dollars.  Get this documented and send it to Social Security.  He should have an income of no more than 2000.00.  He is playing the system.  People like him are the reason others do not get benefits.
