  1. What battle?

They can either stay at home, or go to work.  It's their choice.

Both choices involve caring for your family. So who cares?

Edit: It doesn't matter which is better. Everyone has their own opinions. What does matter is that women have the choice to decide which they want to do.

  2. I certainly support a families right to make that decision for themselves.

The only battle I hear about is working mothers being told that because they worked they did not love their children.

  3. Guilt or uncertainty over their individual choices turning into defensiveness ...on both sides.

Working Moms fret they might be short-changing both their children and their jobs.

Stay at home mothers wonder if they aren't heaping too heavy a burden on their partners and wonder what will happen if their relationships break up and they are minus a spouse and in possession of either no job skills or outdated ones, or they are feeling guilty for feeling bored by 24/7 domestic activity.

  4. From the point of view of a stay at home wife, I would always contest the notion that staying at home is a waste of time, and that my children would be better off in daycare.  I would also contest the viewpoint that paid employment is the only worthwhile way to spend your time.

However, I don't much care what other women do, or what they think of what I do.  There are few people for whose opinions I care very much, and none of them are feminists.  I just enjoy arguing about things.

  5. The only point of the battle is for one side to look superior to the other in a lame attempt to make its choice seem more viable.

  6. There IS NO battle.   It is a myth.  Feminism is about Choices and the freedom to make those choices.  SAHM are women too... and deserve equality in every area of politics and society.

I repeat... there IS no battle.

  7. i think the majority of people support a woman's right to choose whether to work or stay at home.

it's only a few radicals on both sides still fighting.
