Will the world REALLY END on the 10/11th of september???

omg i am like so scared!!!! i heard at school today that the world will end on the 10th or llth of september and i was nearly crying! I'm so scared i've been thinking about it ALL day and I really would like to know and also why is this?!? can we stop it from happening? Can you please write answers that won't make me more scared or sad, if this is true put it to me lightly!!!! Will we all be sucked into a black hole and die??

  2. you should have laughed as loud as you can when someone told you that, why didn't you ask them back why is it on 10th or 11th of September? and ask them what is a black hole? do they even understand what is it?

  5. Im going for no. Im not concerned about the LHC it was made by some of the smartest people in the world. It is being watched and anticipated by humanities best and brightest. I personally put no more stock in this than I did the whole Y2K fiasco.

    As fas as I can understand, if the LHC produces black holes they will decay into nothing very quickly. From what I read they are expecting black holes and are ready to study them. I must admit the whole thing is a little beyond my understanding, but some very educated people claim that solar radiation produces much more power than the LHC could ever hope to. Therefore if solar radiation has not created these black holes then the LHC could'nt possibly hope to.

    Another article I read said that even if these black holes did not decay into nothing very quickly it would take them a very long time to start sucking up anything at all. I think it said something about years before it could start pulling in atoms, however I may be wrong on the specifics.

    As far as worring about it goes, ask yourself if going crazy with fear is going to help anything. You will probably come up with no. So just enjoy life, hope for the best, plan for the worst and be happy! As for the baby issue, theres nothing wrong with concern or voicing your concern. If something scares you then ask some questions.

    If I were to pick something to be concerned about as far as the world, it would be the environment. I don't think its going to be too bad for people living now, but we should take care of it for future generations.

  11. Grow up! How can we be sucked into a black hole? They all made of collapsed stars and there are no stars near us. Or collapsed ones. And if we do, there will be nothing to stop it. And you are acting like a baby, so stop it.

    Scientists and policians have already instructed us how to take care of our mother earth.

Okay you must be stupit. first of all if you are talking about 2012 then its not going to happen its just some astronomical event that we can see in our life time the planets all go into a line maybe we can see jupiter XD but still dont be scared i know it because you were prolly studying the mayan calander see the guy died out of some battle so he never got to finish it!!

  15. According to the bible nobody knows the time so I'am in doubt of this date even not believing everything is written in that book.

    But well when playing with fire a continent can easy blow off for example when people like Ph.D. push the button on CERN without knowing what they gonna find.

Bose sent his paper to Einstein, who saw the significance of it and used his influence to get it published." in this article perfectly describing the current situation. As they claim it is natural but claim at the same time that LHC reached a unnatural low temperature so even Ph.D. can be unlogical. Just follow the race in building bigger and bigger colliders maybe someone understood and made the Europeans self destruct but of course this would be only another conspiracy theory.

    Anyway scientists claiming on one side to have a unnatural temperature environment but saying on the other side things like this happen in nature all the time .. well they have there papers but for a average person like me that seems to be insane physics.

    Imo Europe, Asia is more likely to be gone first just for the cause of it but that is a personal opinion. Like save the best for last :)

Lol, heck the sun will most likely become a red giant and engulf venus and mercury before a black hole destruction occurs.  (Unless something in the center of our galaxy triggers the black hole to make it more massive thus increasing the gravitational force exerted by it) it won't happen.  (Either way this will take millions/billions of years)

    So many dooms day theories have been developed, the most recent and controversial is in December of 2012 when the ancient mayan calendar ends and supposedly biblical scrolls predict an asteroid collision.  Granted this can occur at any time, as we only have I believe 90% or so of the asteroids categorized last I heard.

    Either way if the world is going to end, nothing much you can really do about it, even if it is an asteroid.  (Missiles won't necessarily work, as there are 3 primary types; single piece, double piece and cluster.  Single piece can be broken up, double can break up somewhat depending on point of impact, cluster has little effect by a missile and can regroup depending on location in space)

    there is real reason to belive that the world will end on december 21 2012(which is backed up with sientific study)

    there is a planet from the milky way galaxy on its way into our solor system and is now visiable from the most southern part or earth by satelite and in 2009 if im correct it should be visiabl by the naked eye]

    the planet is called niburu

    this is a mayan belife which is a ancient religion as they were experts in solar analasis and there calander ends on that date

    i could go on typing for hours about it but basicaly what they have belived to be happening is that as it gets closer earth disasters will happen which have been becoming more regular recently as youl know from the news what it will do is knock the earth f its axis and cause earth quakes-tidal waves-floods-volcanic eruptions e.t.c

    also this has been predicted as the end of the world for thousands of yeas by oracles such as merlin-nostrodamus e.t.c

    and dont count on the gov telling you much about it as it will cause a global outbreak of chaos

    i personaly do belive it as in recent years the world has been getting terrible weather-polar caps breaking off-sea levels rising e.t.c which has all been predicted

    also the planet which was predicted in the past to arrive on this date is even in site niburu or planet x they call it in modern times

  20. My biggest fear is dying too but if it is true that the world will end on the 10th or 11th (though extraordinarily unlikely) then what's the point in worrying your head off about it. Try and relax for the last few days otherwise you will get to upset and then when nothing happens on the 10th or 11th you will end up feeling like a numbnut. So, moral of the story: Don't fret about the inevitable!  

  21. Oh my there sure are a lot of Dooms Day questions out there. There is really no evidence to support the idea that we will be sucked into a black hole, it is merely a prediction. When I was in school I heard about this as well, and it is better to just not think about it. Just remember, no one knows for sure what will happen, all they can do is really guess.

    now about a black hole, you might know that our solar system, that the many planets are revolving around sun. like that there are many solar system those are revolving around black hole. and there are thousands of years remaning for our solar system to go near to it. so chill this fear will be seen in your grand grand sons.

  23. Don't worry lana, nothing is going to happen. We are not going to be sucked into any sort of black hole. Don't be frightened... this is just a myth started by a bunch of people that missed physics.

    Don't be said... be happy! The machine that will create these micro black holes won't suck us up because they are of VERY low mass... only a couple hundred protons. Black holes don't have an infinite amount of gravitational pull... it is dependent on their mass. The lower the mass, the lower the gravity. My dog has more of a gravitational pull than those black holes.

    The LHC (which is the machine you're talking about) is going to give us answers to lingering questions in the world of physics, which is good.

    You have a better chance of being hit by a meteor, while being struck by lightening with 10 winning lottery tickets in your hand on the top of Bill Gate's house munching on cookies with Hannah Montana than being eaten by a black hole.

    EDIT: Don't worry, you're not acting like a baby... full grown adults ask the very same question except they sometimes have even more absurd theories. Don't be worried about death by LHC because that is impossible. :)

  24. The gullibility of people never ceases to astound me. You're young, so I guess it can be excused, but please pull yourself together and stop believing EVERYTHING your friends tell you. Even without knowing the first thing about particle/quantum physics, I could give lots of reason why thinking that the world is going to end any time in the foreseeable future is stupid.
