Will the world economy strengthen, weaken, or be the same in 2009?

Does anyone think things will be booming again or in serious depression in the next few years?

The trend looks like we would face serious depression in the forthcoming years. This is due to the fact that natural resources are not sufficient enough to cater all the population of the world which makes each country trying to grab as much as possible depriving others. This mad rush of selfishness creates an environment leading to conflicts and wars which further bring down the economy and this way it goes. The world economy has already started slowing down and this weakening may continue for another 12 to 18 months before it starts recovering. So, 2009 is going to be worse year in economic terms than this year.
