They gave up a future all star in jose tabata in the marte, nady trade. Ohlendorf is a decent player too. Who else is mad about this deal?!?!

  1. Xavier Nady is my favorite player. I was really hoping he'd come back to the Mets. The yanks are beyond lucky to have him.

  2. They go out and buy the best guys around. It worked in the 90's but it isn't working anymore is it? They aren't very smart in th Bronx Zoo. Sorry

  3. They've been pretty good about holding onto youngsters for a while. But they are making a move now and sometimes it is right to give in order to get.

I don't know much about Tabata  but his got a .630 OPS in AA ball which doesn't sound like a superstar to me.

  4. I understand why some people would be angry. It seems at times like the Yankees just empty their farm system to acquire players. Tabata, despite only being 19, is batting under .250, and was suspended earlier in the year for disciplinary reasons. Perhaps the front office knows something about him that we dont. I'm just glad we didnt have to get rid of Melky Cabrera, Kennedy, Hughs, etc. to get a good package of players.

  5. Not me....i dont get why anyone would be....sure they gave up two prospects but marte is one of the best lefties out there and nady is in his prime!

  6. I'm not a yankee fan, but yet I still don't understand why the Yankees think they need to trade young, talented players for other possibly one year wonders.  Look last year at red sox, trading for Eric Gagne-he didn't do well at all after the trade and hasn't pitched the same since!
