  1. Yes, and in the mean time Dan Marino will go to the Marlins for his NHL debut

  2. adam dunn to the rays? lol i hope so

  3. You guys are idiots. You CAN trade after the deadline. It's called "Waivers!"

And I'd be there is one or two deals, but nothing huge

  4. Responding to some people on here. You can still trade people by letting them pass through waivers first. Obviously the star players would get taken on waivers, so it's usually only mediocre players or good players who are very injury prone or something.

That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if the Braves attempt to deal Mark Kotsay. He doesn't fit in their future plans because we have two CF prospects waiting in the wings for next year. Plus he has a bad back that will bench him occasionally and has missed a lot of time over the last few years, but he is a good leadership presence, a reliable fielder, and a pretty good bat. So contending teams could think he's worth it.

Washburn could make it through waivers because of his undeserved huge contract. So I expect him to go somewhere. Same with Byrd. His contract is a little too high for a player of his caliber in most teams' opinions. I like Byrd...but he is a little overpaid, so if anyone picks him up, I say the Yanks do...but probably only as plan B if Washburn doesn't go anywhere. I don't think Beltre or Ibanez could make it through waivers, and I am positive that Mahay wouldn't make it through waivers (a good left-handed reliever is coveted at this moment in time). Blalock would be a gamble. He may or may not make it through, and your guess is as good as mine on that one. Somebody like Beltre though would be coveted as a person to build around in the future (since the worst records get first chance at taking him), so I don't expect him to be put into waivers.

  5. there could be if they put any of those players on waivers and someone picks them up but i doubt it. And the 1st guy who said you don't have brains might want to study some more baseball himself.

  6. Go grab a dictionary. Look up deadline.

I never said that nobobdy was going to be traded. And of course the only players on waivers that could get traded are mediocre players.

  7. i think washburn and byrd are the only 2 likely to be traded....and yankeefanboy13.....ur a r****d....that was the NON WAIVER dead line...u can still trade someone who clears waivers

  8. Actually they can trade if the player is on waivers, so yeah, but no, there won't be

  9. they call it a trade deadline for a reason, because you can not trade any players beyond the date.
