I would like to see some gesture that shows people still care. Maybe a charity for injured racehorses?

I never want people to forget that magnificent creature!

  1. I guess we can do things to honor her by donating to places that save injured horses' lives. I heard on another post that she will be cremated, so I don't know if they will have an actual gathering for her. She does deserves to be remembered though, 100% agreement from me.

And to the post above me horse racing is nothing like dog fighting. In that nasty hobby one or both of the dogs is injured or killed, it is completely horrible. In horse racing, all they do is run around a track, trying to be first. No animal is injured PERPOUSLY like in dog fighting. Race horses are treated better than most of us too. They are very healthy, get exercised regulary, and are treated like royalty.

  2. The best thing would be if people would stop supporting racing by attending or betting on it.  It is very cruel sport and no better than c**k or dog fighting although those involved in it cannot see that.

  3. Delaware Park, where Eight Belles won her first race, is slotted to have a private memorial for her today (Tues).  Not sure where ashes will be interred.  I'd also like to see some sort of memorial similar to what was done for Barbaro.  Kentucky Derby Musuem  may be planning something.
