  1. A lot of the players have been critical of the tables, so a record looks unlikely.  Joe Swail should have had a maximum this morning.

  2. 68 was the highest number scored in 2002 when Ebdon was the eventual winner.  The period towards the end of the 1990's and early 2000's saw some high totals primarily because John Higgens and Stephen Hendry were particularly prolific century makers in their prime.  Since these two players have gone on the wane somewhat the figures have dropped substantially and this year I doubt the record will be approached.  I'd guess at around 55 if i was betting on it.

  3. don't know how you can make predictions of this sort, especially after just watching a frame that lasted 49 minutes. To get high breaks players need to play positively.

  4. 68 the record the most from one player during the 1998 championship was 14 j higgins if hendry and higgins hit form i reckon we could beat the record of 68 if they dont then i reckon we will be lucky to reach 50

  5. its only been a slow week as it shows the form of the players is there but as the tournement gets longer the breaks get higher as the flow and consistency of the players improve.hendry struggled with a new cue and ronnie is focused as are most of the last 16 now so you can expect more centuries but have to allow for the usual kicks table conditions etc

  6. Wikipedia has got a good section on this.  Although it doesn't say how many there were last year.

There were 48 in 1996 and that was a record until 1998.

59 in 1998 and that record lasted until 2002.

68 in 2002 and that was the last year they mentioned a record so I assume it's 68...

  7. i think the record is about 25 there will be about that many
