Most likely, but it would probably be in the very early stages of development. Think of how long of a time it was between the PS2 and the PS3.

Considering the PS3 pushed Blu-Ray to success, I'm sure Sony will come up with another unecessary format to try to push with another PlayStation.

yes there will be a playstation 4 in the future as sony announced about 2 weeks ago that it is currently in the early stages of development. they also stated that it will be a good 5 years before the system is officially anounced and then 1 more year after that untill it is released. sony also have plans for the playstation 3 to last for 10 years just as the ps2 is currently heading for with it now in its 8th year on the market.

p.s. i actually heard that sony has already been coming up with designs for the ps4, ps5, and ps6

yea, but most like in about 10 years. sony said that the ps3 will last for a good 10 years so, just like ps2, after about 7 years, they will announce the next system.
