The greats, hands down everyone knows it, they were great before anyone even really knew who they were. My question is this... There are myriads of punk, rock, alternative, emo, etc bands right now. HONESTLY now... do ANY of these bands have guitarists that come close? ( im talking REAL NEW bands, not RATMachine, or Tool, etc.)

  1. Not a one comes close my friend. Not a one would even make a pimple on the butt of the 3 you said. Todays guitarists are all jokes.. 3 chords is all they know.

  2. i think that rite now there just isnt any really good guitarists that come along with these bands. However, i look at guitarist such as buckethead who possibly have the most technical talent i have ever seen but may never be considered great due to the type of music they play and their attitude.

  3. no, not even close.  They are lightyears behind the masters. Really you cant compare them. All we have now are copycat players without any artistic abilities.
