  1. If you didn't qualify this year, but do based on your 2008 income and filing, then you'll get a tax cut from THIS stimulus program on your 2008 return that you file in early 2009.

  2. Not in the same way it was distributed this year, but yes, you will have a second chance.

    Here's what the IRS says:

    Q. I don’t qualify for a stimulus payment based on my 2007 return. But my tax situation will be different in 2008. Will I qualify for any special benefit?

    A. Possibly. The 2008 tax instructions will include a worksheet to help those who did not qualify for a payment or those who received a reduced amount determine if they can obtain a benefit when they file their 2008 tax returns next year.

  3. the stimulus package was only for 2008. this is not going to be a yearly check.

it would need to be another package created for it to be sent out in 2009.

  4. Probably not as 2009 is not an election year.

  5. Probably not.

If Obama wins, you'll need to be on welfare to get the stimulus check.

If McCain wins, he'll probably wait until an election year before even considering whether to offer another round of checks.

  6. Why call it a "economic stimulus check", when it's anything but; Bush's "economic stimulus" program is another failure to heap on the pile of those he's already caused.

For this "stimulus" plan to fully work, it'd have to have every American receiving such checks NOW to do so TWICE a year for at least 17 years---barring any further economic adversity growing in step w/ the program.

Doubts exist this "economic stimulus check" program will be an annual program for Americans to enjoy; it's a one hit wonder---and not much of one, at that, when put against the economic adversity out there right now.

Even if it were to, I can imagine the program would have so many quirky criteria for qualifying, that the effort to apply for it is pointless---and will likely find only a very small number of Americans actually seeing REDUCED checks.

Again, we face being back at Square 1.
