  1. Yeah! Of course there is! The previous answerers don't know what they're talking about!

Its the new "in thing" in the Canaries, they've got Downhill,  Slalom, Nordic combined, Ski-jumping, Alpine and Cross Country ski-ing and Snowboarding. Then theres the usual Luge, Toboggans and my own personal favourite... Bobsliegh.

You might just catch the Biathlon if you're there before the 31st of the month- a great tradition in the mountains above Kiddinonyadaftie. They also have  Skeleton competitons for amatuers and proffessionals- don't miss that it's a hoot!

Yes, I can confidently say that if it's ski-ing you're after, you'll be spoilt for choice- all the big resorts have coachloads of people who head up to the mountains at 5am every morning with the mountain guides and every bus is fully equiped with St Bernards and heat-seeking equipment for safety in case of avalanche.

Avalanche risk is biggest in July and August so maybe June will be ok. However, I'd reccommend you go fully equiped with a hip-flask of brandy to be sure.

    Enjoy!

  2. I presume you are taking the p*ss??!!

Not a chance of snow in Lanzarote at anytime of year!

Mount Teide in Tenerife does have snow on the top for a large part of the year..but you can't ski!

It did actually snow on the beach in Tenerife in August about 8 years ago, a freak storm that didnt last long...but you should've seen the faces of the people...tourists were bad enough...but local Canarian children had never actually seen snow falling before!

Anyway only skiing anywhere in the Canaries is water skiing.

If you want some tips on Lanzarote post a question here I lived there for 5 years!

PS. Lady Traveller...love your answer...great sense of humour!!

  3. No and there will be No uphill skiing either

  4. IN LANZAROTE?!?!?!?!?!?!?

    **** NO!

  5. there is no snow in the canneries but you could always down hill on an old ally draining board that you could pick up at the lanzarote recycling centre for a couple of euro's

  6. jajajaja, sorry I must laugh!!!

well I see you have no idea where you are going on holidays, Lanzarote have mountains but not for skiing or climbing.

the only sports you can do here is scuba, trekking, windsurf or surf and of course parties and get drunk.
