Will there be any problems with registration if I have a swapped motor?

I will buy a 1995 honda civi with a swapped 1996 Acura B18B1 Motor, will I have any problems registering the car? and if it beter to have a swapped motor for a civic or not?

  1. If it will pass emissions, and you won't get harassed for having all kinds of illegal parts under the hood, registration is no problem.


  2. You will have no problems registering it, however smogging it is a entire different story.

  3. just make sure you have the vin number on the motor still and  atleast some paper work for it......but if you have no paper work and no vin numbers your going to have some problems.

  4. no problems registering. acura and honda are the same thing. even with emissions testing the swapped motor is newer, theoretically it will  pass easier

    just remember thousands of people swap to different engines every day, including myself
