Will there be bad traffic tomorrow on the I80 towards sf from sac?

Im going to pick up a friend around noon tomorrow at the sf airport, am i going to hit major traffic because of the holiday weekend?

  1. There is always bad traffic in the bay area during rush hours... but usually sundays are quieter, and noon on any day is a safe bet.  For the holiday weekend, though, I'd say there will be more people coming out of the city than going in, so you should be fine on the way in.  Good luck getting across the bay bridge going east though.  Noon is definately your best time to go.


  2. I would suggest using public transit due to the expected very bad traffic. BART will cut through much of the misery between SFO and Richmond. Amtrak's Capitol corridor trains can zip you to & from Sacramento from Richmond. Trust me between the bridge tolls, high gas prices and traffic the rail system is the way to go! Good luck!

  3. At that time of day you'll be dead. It will take you 3 hours to get to the City and another 15 minutes to SFO once you get out of Downtown SF. Allow at least 3.5 hours drive time!
