Will there be enough diesel fuel or infrastructure to provide it in the next few years and at what cost.?

  3. Actually, I was told a barrel of oil will make more diesel than gasoline, because it is not as refined. I am not sure of this, though.

  4. There is already plenty of diesel infrastructure. The issue is going to be the supply of diesel. Diesel is currently more than than the top grade of gasoline at the pump and increased demand will just drive that price up more. Also, in the winter diesel supplies get further reduced as refineries shift production away from diesel and towards heating oil.

    Did anybody see the announcement this morning that VW is rolling out diesel hybrids that get 70 mpg? AWSOME!

  6. It is very probable that refinery processes can be tweaked to produce more diesel to meet increasing demand.
