Will there be fat people like me in Oregon?

I am having to travel to the south eastern area of Oregon,I think the town of Bend on business.I am fat.Someone told me that there are no fat people there,that everyone is ULTRA fit and active.Will I be made fun of? should I not go because I am fat? help/.

  1. We're number 19 out of 25 on the skinniest places to live in the country, but of course there are fat people everywhere.

    Like someone else said, Oregon is very outdoor oriented. Everyone around here is very active, so that contributes a great deal.


  2. Being fat shouldn't prevent you from doing anything you want.  Please take a look at fatso.com and read the book Fat!So? by Marilyn Wann.  It's radical thinking these days, but it may save you from wasting your life with negative perceptions.

    Oregon has an "outdoorsy" culture, but yes, there are fat people there. If more than half of the US population is "overweight", you can be sure you'll find people like us in any state.  

  3. There is over weight people EVERYWHERE. Hopefully people have lives and are grown up enough not to make fun of you. Good luck on your trip.
