Will there be no end to US aggression?

antiwar.com has this to say about Obama's appointment of Biden.

Given the dangerous precedent set by the Iraq war resolution, naming one of its principal supporters as potentially the next vice president of the United States has raised serious questions regarding Obama's commitment to international law. This comes at a time when the global community is so desperately hoping for a more responsible U.S. foreign policy following eight years of Bush.

Early in his presidential campaign, Obama pledged to not only end the war in Iraq, but to also challenge the mindset that got the United States into Iraq in the first place. Choosing Biden as his running mate, however, raises doubts regarding Obama's actual commitment to "change we can believe in."

Does this mean that the US will continue in its disregard for International Law and the independence of other nations? And if so, are we seeing the end of the US Empire or will it continue until we have a One World Government?

  1. Just what is international law to you?

Is it like KYOTO that the whole of the E U ,Canada and the boys down under signed on to but never lived up too? Just so you can say ''we care we lead on this''

Just read the silly post below ''U S wiped of the face of this earth'' Wishful thinking ''by the rest of the world'' As the leader of the world said ''bring it on''

  2. In an Obama TV ad in my state, he says that he will "responsibly" withdraw the troops from Iraq.  That pretty much tells us that he will not withdraw the troops immediately, which is what the anti-war movement has been demanding for several years now.  Immediate troop withdrawal was also the promise Democratic Congressional candidates made in order to get elected in 2006.

So, it looks like you are right.  Same old, same old.

  3. OBAMA HAVE SAID ON MANY OCCASION THAT THE BUCK STOP WITH HIM NOT HIS VP THERE WANT BE A d**k (HEAD)  CHENEY IN THE WHITE HOUSE YAMSTER

  4. "My friends, I am sorry, but there will be more wars" John McCain

  5. I believe that will happen soon.

I'm horrified even thinking about it to continue like this ?

That would mean a nuclear war AKA WW3. The US will get wiped off the map by the rest of the world.

    Regards.

  6. it is indeed disappointing to see someone who was a supporter of the iraq war on obama's ticket, but biden is a complicated figure. interestingly enough, he was one of the few senators who opposed the gulf war before we went into it - and that was arguably a much less divisive conflict (as you remember the war on iraq was deeply unpopular even before it started). at the same time, biden has indicated that we should have military action in places like sudan to stop the genocide there. hopefully obama will be able to temper the sometimes bellicose attitude of joe biden with his leadership. after all, it will be obama in charge and not biden.

  7. Disregard for International Law? China does that every day and now Russia is engaging in that one....Besides, no politician in this country is going to bring the troops home any time soon.  I mean, people need to use some common sense. It costs more to bring them home than it did to send them right now because the price of fuel is ridiculously high.

IF anything, they won't bring them home--they will simply relocate them to another hot spot...THAT will most likely be Afghanistan...
