Will account holders get a payout if A&L is taken over.

  1. No reason that they should, and I very much doubt they will.

    A&L has been a Public Limited Company since it demutualised in 1997. Any sale proceeds belong to the shareholders.

    Account holders are just customers, no more likely to get a payout than if the shop where they buy their groceries is taken over by Tescos.

    Sorry if that's not the answer you hoped for, but I'm afraid it's the way things are.
