Will there be peace in Mindanao?

Specifically, Basilan-Cotabato area.

That is what everybody is hoping and praying for.  Peace is so elusive in those places.  It is highly hoped that the government and the Muslim separatist group will cease fighting.  True peace can never be achieved as long as one or both parties are not willing and are distrustful of each other.

no, there wont be.. sad to say... IT has been goin on several years from now to think that PNP has more police plus the soldiers to disarmed those rebels. It's a government tactic and It won't be changed nor disarmed til we change our government.

i hope so.. yes, mindanao is peaceful than manila but in terms of terrorism, its much better to live in manila than here in mindanao.. mindanao is just so chaotic its because of some muslim rebels... they want to form another country, they want to rule.. their so cruel...

Well those areas are pre-dominated by muslims. Northern and eastern side of Mindanao is dominated by Christians.

They are fighting for their own homeland? Why not co-exist with one another. Surely will bring peace and prosperity. Look at countries around you, multi-racial society happily co-existing with each other even though with tolerance of each other, we still exist.

With that, will peace come. Doves will settle on the olive branches in Mindanao.

Actually Mindanao is full of natural resources.

I think if Mindanao was allowed to be split into 2, 7107 islands in the Philippines can be split into many countries.

I've been to Basilan and I live in the South Cotabato area. Honestly, if I hadn't been watching the news, I wouldn't know about those war. Now, Mindanao like any place else, has it's own share of rebels, bandits and terrorists. Yeah, it's so depressing to see innocent lives wasted over culture differences and selfish interests. What we need right now is a REAL eye opener, a COMPROMISE between the government and those people over there. But, before that, we have to know who really is behind all those... remember, WAR is BUSINESS... some people thrives on it.

Actually Mindanao is much peaceful than Manila.
