...the American public? It seems to be no matter what method is used to tabulate votes, a foul is called in the name of conspiracy. Regardless of what voting method is used, should there not be a paper trail for back up counting?

  1. It would certainly go a long way by eliminating Diebold, a known extreme right wing organization, from manufacturing voting machines. There are numerous other examples.

  2. If it was possible to create a tamper-proof method of voting, conspiracy theories related to voting would not exist. Unfortunately, in the history of voting, cheating has always taken place. That gives credibility to conspiracy theories.

The more advanced we become technologically, the easier it will be for cheating to take place, however primitive means of voting aren't a lot better.

  3. Yes, there should be a paper trail.  And no, I don't believe there will ever be a conspiracy-proof, let along fool-proof, method.  We do the best we can.

The real answer is to give your candidate such a landslide that no recount is necessary.  Do your share to put him there!

  4. Everyone gets a reciept with their votes and a number on it. Everyone's result is displayed publicly by number in their voting district. You wanna see that your vote wasn't messed with, just look up the number.

  5. So you don't think that Chicago rigged Nixon's win? Whew, because you know, Obama is from Chicago and I just couldn't bear thinking that the "honorable" mayor would do anything special to help him bag the house.

Whoever wins, wins. for whatever reason. After all, and it's only suggested at face value, by the end of the next pres. term, it will be 2012. a whole other conspiratorial snakepit.

  6. Unfortunately, Al Gore's attorneys basically argued before the supreme court of the united states, that democrat party voters were too ******* dumb to use a punch card ballot.  It was a good and easy system for those of us that can read and follow instructions.

Now, most states have different systems and while I don't think their have been active conspiracies, some of us are prone to thinking there is one.
