If so, when will it be released? Or anything CLOSE to that.

  2. But it's so nice getting an entirely new xbox everytime it breaks!! If you have a warrenty.

  3. Units with the Falcon chipset have a smaller CPU die (65nm vs 90nm) and a better heatsink for the board that is less prone to failure. These were manufactured from late 2007 to the present. Apparently the GPU is also going to shrink to 65nm with the Jasper chipset, which will alleviate the cooling problems even further.

I personally own a 360 with a Falcon chipset and its been running fine.

The fan can be different depending on the date and which Lot # the console was manufactured. Some 360s one the market have dead quiet fans already. Same story with the loud DVD drives.

  4. I'd say that there will always be a slight chance of RRoD on any 360, it's just that the chance has dropped over the years as they've changed the insides of the 360 so your best bet is to just try & get a nice new 360 & make sure you keep the warranty.

As for the fan I have to admit I hardly notice mine & it's a 2006 model which is yet to RRoD *touches wood*

To be fair though, any piece of hardware has a chance of failure, it's really all just up to dumb luck & how well you take care of your machine.
