My daughter is 2 and a half and her dad is away for a week, these are the things I can think of to do for the next week and approximately how long they last for. Assume that the rest of the time will be spent at home probably playing with toys or watching a movie or taking a bath.

Saturday- Go to video store and let her pick out movies for the week- 1 hr or 1.5 hrs if we walk there (it is already saturday afternoon here so we are ok for today)

Sunday- Go to park - 45 mins

Feed animals at animal farm - half hour

Walk dogs - 15 mins

Monday- Go to friends house - 3 hours

Walk dogs - 15 mins

Tuesday- Daycare - 5 hours

Wednesday- Go to playcentre in the afternoon - 3 hrs

Thursday- Take her to the neighbourhood creche while I study - 3 hrs

Walk dogs - 15 mins

Friday- Playcentre for 3 hrs in the morning

  1. i think on wed, thurs, fri, it seems like short days....

try adding in crafts and little activities in the kitchen and maybe let her help you make food for picnics along with another park day, maybe bring her to the library for story telling times!

    haveee fun!

  2. busy schedule.. sounds good to me.

  3. It sounds like you have a very busy week. More than most parents would do with their child. You can also fill time with "swimming" in the bathtub, swimsuit and everything. Or cleaning the house together, you'd be surprised how much little ones like to clean. Or exploring the backyard, they love looking for little bugs and such. Good for you for being so planned out.

  4. You will probably want to plan for some more at home activites although its good that your getting out everyday so she'll be a little more tired out.

  5. Sounds good, but let her play with the dogs or toys outside in the extra time. Kids love the outside. And also, during snack time, let her help you, like if your make her a sandwich let her get the bread for you, and let her make it (with help of course, for instance dip in the peanut butter, and hold her hand as she smears it on) She'll enjoy her meal more if she feels she made it usually.

  6. wow thats a busy schedule and i am sure it is filling but you might also want to ask your daughter what she would like to do, i mean if u think she is old enough for that. But yea it seems pretty filling and good luck thats gonna take a lot of energy out from you, but your little girl sure is lucky to have a mom arrange all these fun things to do! =]

  7. There are so many fun things you can do at home with children!  I did arts and crafts with my sons all the time when they were little - even at 2 years old!  I would be more than happy to give you tons of ideas for little ones, so just e-mail me if you're interested.  One good thing to remember is that just letting children that young help you do things at home really occupies them and they love it.  At that age, everything is new to them, so things that are mundane to us are exciting to them.  My boys loved to paint and draw (still do!).  I began teaching my boys the alphabet, numbers, and colors soon after they began talking, and there are a lot of fun ways to do that, too.
