  1. I actually agree with that.

Those are prestigious schools, they aren't going to take your little "projected grades."  Just retake the test.

  2. It seems like a lot of the answerers here don't understand that your projected grade isn't something that you or your school made up, it's an actual College Board-determined grade, only it's not based on the entire test because they screwed up and lost a part of it.  Just wanted to make that clear.

Tough luck!  I swear, the College Board is horrid sometimes.  The thing with those schools (but I only personally applied to a few of those, so I can't be absolutely sure about all of them) is that they don't require that you send the actual score report to them.  Instead, they ask that you self-report your scores.  After you're accepted and decide to attend one of the schools, you send the actual score report to them.  So when you're self-reporting, just put down 5 for your score because the College Board says that that's what you'd have gotten had they not screwed up.  This should suffice for the purposes of the application.  However, in order to actually receive credit, each individual school (and department) is going to have its own policy, so you'll have to check with them.  (You should also check with them about what'd be appropriate to put down on the application, just to be on the safe side.)  The College Board should have offered you the option of making up the missing portion of the test, and you should probably opt to do so if you have that option.  Again, sorry about the bad luck, but congrats on your 5, even if it is projected.

  3. uhh no... wtf?
