I have worked with US forces during gulf war as doctor in armed medical core.

I have a letter of appreciation from the the then president Mr. Bill clinton.

Will these help me to get tourist visa to US?

  1. It certainly won't hurt at all, but remember, the main concern is will you return to your home country after your visit is over and also having you show strong ties to your home country. Although these documents that you speak of do not address these concerns, it does show some nice things about you.

What will help you get a tourist visa to the US is a valid passport, a current bank account showing at least $1500.00 and a letter from your employer or place of business showing valid employment and funds. If you own a home, bring the deed or proof of mortgage. What is your reason for travel, vacation, family, job search?

  3. I would sure well hope so & expect that it would account for something good towards your application. Make a a note of it on the DS-157 form and of course carry in your letter of appreciation from the then President.
