I guess 3 of them. One on the left, middle and right. Will it work? Also, I looked every where trying to find some pedestals around 6 feet high, but no luck. Anyone know where a good place to find some that could support a fish tank that heavy? The tank is about 7 feet long.

Check at Home Depot for the names of a couple of carpenters....then show the picture to the carpenter and take their estimate to build 4 coulmns

.....myself, i am out of the country for the next year and otherwise would offer myself

depending on how solidly the build these columns are, it would be possible to set one on each corner of the tank, based on the following three considerations:

    1) ....the inside of the columns should be built of 2x4's vertically and horizontally with half-lapped joints that are 'glued and screwed'

....(the columns can then be covered with the nice finishing wood on the outside to reflect the style you choose)

    2) ....lay a 4x4 across each column, using 2 long pieces on the front and back and using 2 short pieces on the ends, these should meet on-center of the columns so the weight is evenly distributed onto each column

    3) ...on top of those lay a piece of 3/4 plywood

  2. Why would want your fish tank 6 feet high? you'll need to work off a step ladder to do cleaning and maintenance.
