  1. Try critter trail cages.

  2. It depends on the cages that you have come across. I have had hamsters as pets for so many years and have been loyal to Habitrail cages for as long as I remember. I have never faced any problems with them and my hamsters have never escaped. Hmmmm not exactly....a few times, I have had hamsters escape because we had forgotten to close the cage door and not because Habitrail cage has a problem :-). Of course, I do not like the new OVO range from Habitrail but their old collection of barred cages - Playground, Safari and Space and the new one Habitrail Mini are all excellent cages for both syrian and dwarf hamsters. You can visit the following site for cage ideas -

    www.habitrail.com

Another type of cage that is interesting to me nowadays is the home made bin cages, these are cost effective, easy to make at home and spacious too. For a tutorial on how to make hamster bin cages, visit the following website -

  3. well, go to http://www.petco.com

then look around. Pretty neat stuff.

  4. Well, actually, you can make one yourself that is bigger, better, and cheaper than the ones you see at the pet store. The cages you can make are called bin cages.

  5. Sadly, probably not. I don't know that a wire cage of any sort will solve your problem. Your hamster will chew on the bars which can be dangerous. http://www.hamsterific.com/CageBarChewin...

Well you probably already know that some of the suggested cages with wire ramps and floor or plastic bridges that your hamster can fall off of are not at all suitable for hamsters.

What are your hamsters chewing on in your bin cages? I know some bins are more streamlined on the inside than others. We have numerous bin cages and don't have a chew mark on any of them. We use the Sterilite 105 qt (99 l) latch totes - the bottoms don't seem to have anything that a hamster could get its teeth into to start chewing. Maybe consider a different bin?

  6. Actually, there's many great sized cages out there avaliable for both Syrian and Dwarf.

People just aren't willing to research and spend the money.

I work in a pet shop, and we have perfect size cages there.

    I don't know what country you're in.

But the Spelos/Max is good for Dwarf.

  7. Hey thanks for answering my Q. I got pexiglass to seperate them. Hmmm. I think that some cages are okay. Ex. habitrail 3. You have to meet certain guidelines.

  8. To me tanks are the best. They can't get out and nothing can get in. It's also warmer for them.

Cages are not safe for most animals, unless its a fake.

Because most of them are wire the rodent can easily chew right through the cage, which isn't good if you have cats or dogs. They also think they have to plus color on it and sometimes the color could be harmful to rodents.

I would highly recommend a tank for dwarf hamsters and Syrians.

    Hope that helped!

  9. how about a tank?

  10. U can get a 10 gallon fish tank & put a wire screen on the top that way they don't get out. And make sure the top allows for proper ventalation.
