Will they give me the gel if I ask, at 38 weeks?

Hi I'm in Melbourne, Australia. I have my appointment with the OB tomorrow and I was wondering if anyone knows if i ask for the gel they put on your cervix to help move things along, will they give it too me? Or will they make me wait til my due date :(

I'm not sure but i think that they will make you wait until your due date unless you are at risk, but after your due date comes i believe they will do what you request if you seem to be late.

im in melb vic as well and had my bubs at the  womens melb hospital and they would never do it befor my due date maybe if you beg and start to cry they might good luck hun i know how it feels at the end
