Or will they let Terry Labonte stay in it for the past champions provisional to get in every race for their sponsors the rest of the year? What would you do if you were the new co-owners(Boston Ventures) of Petty Enterprises

  1. If Bostons Venture are depending on the Petty name... to help things stay afloat? Their needs to be SOME Petty name behind the wheel.

I would want one for sure, if it we me?

  2. I think Kyle Petty will be back in the car after those 5 races and if it was up to me I would probably keep Terry Labonte in the car and find a new young driver for next year

  3. He said on ESPN last night he doesnt plan on retiring as a driver for at least 2 more years.  Ouch!

  4. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe past champions provisionals are liminted to six per season per past champion. Terry will be using 5 of his during the weeks he's in the car so to keep Terry after 6 would not solve much UNLESS he is able to get them back inside the Top 35.

I agree that Boston Ventures will want Kyle in the car in the near future to keep that Petty presence. Besides, Kyle is the #5 most popular driver with sponsors/fans which says a lot. I also know Kyle most likely had some input in the new "partnership" agreement and I know he wants to stay in the car a while longer.

  5. Yes...that is the plan...just like last year.

  6. They say he will be back in the car but who knows what will happen now. Boston Ventures may rule the roost now.

  7. Kyle will be back in the 45 car at the end of the TNT stint.
